Regenerating North Solihull
When Bellway Homes, one of the Regenerating North Solihull partners, embarked on 100 new homes as part of the £1.8billion project, they were looking for a utility provider with proven experience of the issues associated with redevelopment sites and Energetics didn’t disappoint.
The Challenge
Disconnections, diversions, space restrictions – identifying and understanding the existing complex and often complicated utility networks at the 1000-acre Regenerating North Solihull site was key to delivering the most efficient electricity and gas infrastructure for our client Bellway Homes. On time connections were also critical to this development, meaning our designers had to act fast on untangling the existing utility infrastructure.
The Solution
With 100 houses to supply across two of the project’s five new villages – Craig Croft and North Arran Way – our Design & Build team wasted no time in identifying the existing utilities, which could be worked with and which needed to be disconnected. The result was a truly bespoke design solution combining National Grid existing mains with new gas and electricity mains.
We then ensured that the new infrastructures were excavated, laid and energised on time for both villages. Testament that doing the right groundwork gets the right result.
