History in the Making at Junction 24

When Energetics were approached to design our second project for Dawn Developments – an electrical infrastructure for a new 70,000 sq ft office development in Glasgow – little did we know that this time around we’d be making history in the process.

The Challenge

Situated on the former St Anthony’s football parks on the corner of Helen Street and Edmiston Drive, Glasgow, Junction 24 Business Park was to offer 70,000 sq ft of office space across seven separate pavilions. Our task was to design the electrical infrastructure capable of supporting it.

We had impressed Dawn Developments on earlier projects so we needed not to only meet expectations but exceed expectations in order to remain their preferred utility provider of choice.

The Solution

Since our previous project on behalf on Dawn Developments, our persistence in challenging restrictive industry practices had paid off with a significant relaxation of IDNO/DNO interface arrangements for standard substation configurations – and we wasted no time in capitalising!

Combining our Design & Build expertise with our quest for innovation, we went on to become the first IDNO to design and install a close-coupled substation in the UK – meeting the business centre’s supply requirements, maximising valuable real estate for the customer and making history in the process. History of a very modern kind.

“They provided a very comprehensive service throughout the project”
Stephen Logan, Contracts Manager Dawn Construction
