Energetics ‘First in Class’ at Liverpool Innovation Park

When Liverpool Vision embarked on the regeneration of the Edge Lane gateway route into Liverpool, they had in mind a hub of innovative activity. So it’s perhaps only fitting that the electrical infrastructure we proposed included our first-ever primary substation.

The Challenge

Innovative thinking is something we apply to each and every project at Energetics. So when Liverpool Vision asked if we could deliver an electrical infrastructure capable of supporting their new 12-acre Liverpool Innovation Park and meeting their tight timescales, we hit the ground running.

This project was one that would also test our project management and interfacing skills as there were many stakeholders involved including the regional DNO’s.

The Solution

Working closely with our customer and the incumbent organisations, our dedicated Design & Build team was able to realise significant time and cost savings by creating a bespoke electrical distribution system including a twin transformer primary substation.

What’s more, because we understood the need for flexibility, our system made allowance for future network extensions within the development footprint and beyond, enabling the customer to progress any future works without the need for a costly rework. A first-class delivery for a first-class facility.

“We were looking around for better value and the ability to meet a very tight timescale.” John Barrow, Project Director, Liverpool Vision
