Business Development Manager – Industrial and Commercial (North)

As a BDM you’ll be key in developing and driving sales, as well as delivering business activity to exacting levels in the industrial and commercial sector.

About the Role

Identification and development of new business is paramount, and you’ll be using your networking skills to build relationships with new customers.
You’ll forge and build relationships with key existing and prospective clients, securing repeat business opportunities. You will influence the growth of the business and be rewarded with a generous salary, benefits and our comprehensive bonus scheme.

You will consistently deliver sales targets and work closely with the Sales Support and Design Team.

Key duties include:

• Achievement of agreed sales targets from both new and existing developer accounts
• Successfully manage a portfolio of key accounts and ensure high levels of repeat business and customer satisfaction
• Proactively develop new business/accounts to agree targets
• Manage and interpret customer needs by gaining a good understanding of the customers’ development plans and by developing an excellent working relationship
• Plan, organise and prioritise sales activities to meet agreed targets
• Work closely with the Design and administration team to ensure quotations are issued to agreed timescales
• Maintain and develop detailed knowledge of the service proposition’s key features and unique benefits
• Maintain a high awareness of competitor propositions and regional activity
• Input to marketing/promotional activity and supporting marketing events where required
• Delivering of sales presentations both internal and external as required
• Provide monthly sales reports to deadlines e.g. trends, sales performance to target, competitor intelligence etc.
• Identify key business opportunities for Energetics across both housing and the industrial sector.

What we are looking for

You will have proven sales experience within the construction industry, be a key team player with strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate and influence at all levels. You will build rapport quickly and develop excellent relationships with customers and colleagues.

You will be experienced at successfully managing a portfolio of customers with full account management with a total commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You will tackle issues head on in a proactive and practical way.

As a BDM you must be focused with attention to detail and positive with a drive to achieve. You will achieve your targets, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

Essential:

• Educated to A Level/HNC level or equivalent.
• At least five years successful sales experience in a similar B2B role ideally within the utility connections, construction or a similar sector
• Experienced at successfully managing a portfolio of customers with full account management
• Educated to A Level/HNC level or equivalent.
• Focused and positive with a drive to achieve
• Excellent communication skills
• Customer focused with total commitment to exceeding customer needs.
• Builds rapport quickly and develops excellent relations with customers and colleagues
• Articulate and persuasive
• Creative and uses initiative to both manage accounts and develop new business
• Excellent at tackling issues in a positive, proactive and practical way
