Energetics has just completed connections work on a new social housing development in Scotland – a council-led project to provide 40 modern, energy-efficient, affordable homes in a mix of one, two and three-bed flats, colonies and houses. The main contractor was a large, privately-owned Scottish construction and manufacturing company that used offsite construction methods to deliver enhanced levels of thermal performance, reducing heat loss and energy demand to create savings for residents.
Energetics designed and installed the gas and electricity connections for the project and, in a first for Scotland, used Mapress gas risers on the multiple occupancy buildings (MOBs). Geberit Mapress is a hazard-free alternative to screwed and welded steel gas risers. Suitable for use on supply systems including heating, cooling, gas and potable water, Mapress has proved to be fast, easy to use and safe – and comes with a 25-year warranty, adding to the efficiency distinction of the project.
Lisa Gunn, Associate Director, Sales and Design Scotland, says:“This is the first new homes installation in Scotland and the UK using the Mapress gas risers, making Energetics the first ICP and IGT to use them. We could not be more pleased with the result. The project is now complete and landscaped and looks fabulous.”
