Three weeks ago, we announced that the wait for our highly anticipated and successful Trainee to Designer Programme was over, inviting people to kickstart their design career on our four-year programme. Through workshops, training events and personal learning, they will develop the skills they need for an exciting, challenging role, benefitting from a great deal of knowledge and experience within the business and a unique opportunity to fast track their career.
We were on the lookout for outstanding people and received over 200 applicants to train to become a fully qualified multi-utility designer.
In a very lively, successful week in Head Office, we whittled down the list to 16 candidates, who endured a full-on formal interview and a technical assessment. We invited the top eight to the final challenge, a group assignment with two teams of four candidates asked to develop a new product relevant to the pandemic.
We scored the three assessments to select our final five candidates. Each of the five was offered and has accepted a trainee position and will start with us on Monday 22nd March.
We’re looking forward to training these new recruits to design multi-utility networks and taking them through a Water Design NVQ and an HNC in their chosen field.
