Staff at Energetics have shown their compassion and generosity with gifts of non-perishable food and toiletries weighing 219.3 kg and Just Giving donations of £690, plus Gift Aid.
Isobel Graham, the Hamilton District Foodbank Manager, thanked everybody for their contributions, which will go towards helping people experiencing hardship in these difficult times. Isobel explained that 9,429 three-day emergency food supplies were provided to local people in crisis by the Hamilton District branch during 2019/20, compared to 8,084 in 2018/19. Of this number 3,295 went to children.
The Hamilton District Foodbank is part of the Trussel Trust network, which helps people break free from poverty by providing the additional support they need to resolve the crises they’re facing. Help with things like debt advice, mental health support or benefits guidance can mean that people don’t need to use a food bank again in the future.
Food banks rely on the support of their local communities to support people in crisis. The Hamilton District Foodbank Just Giving page remains open and can be found here: https://www.justgiving.com/hamilton-district-foodbank
